AWANA
Our second Awana Grand Prix was April 26, 2008. First, Second, and Third place trophies were give in speed and design. It was an exciting race day for those who designed cars and those who watched.
Seventeen clubbers designed and raced their cars this year. Receiving 1st place in speed was Emily, Andrea took 2nd place and 3rd place went to Steve. Six of our adult leaders also enjoyed some racing with their cars. Daniel, Lexus, and Emily took home trophies in design.
The Awana closing program was April 30th. All the clubbers who completed a handbook this year received awards. Everyone enjoyed the Yo yo tricks and gospel presentation by Brother Yo. This was a fun way to close our Awana year.

Vacation Bible School
Amazon Expedition The Ultimate Trek Through Time
Salina Bible Church held its Amazon Expedition Vacation Bible School on June 1-5. The children had fun learning the 7 C’s of History: Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, and Consummation. Of course, these C’s can be found in the Bible, our guidebook during our adventurous expedition in the Amazon rain forest. Singing, snacking, playing games, taking part in science activities, and watching a suspenseful skit rounded out each evening’s activities. 53 children enrolled with an average attendance of 36 each night. Driving church vans, church members brought several children from nearby apartment complexes. Vacation Bible School closed with a special church service followed by a fun-filled picnic complete with a moon walk, pony rides, and a dunk tank. We praise the Lord for willing workers, cooperative weather, and the opportunity to present the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ alone.
Monday Night Bible Study
The men and women are having separate studies for the summer months. The women are doing a nondenominational Bible study using a three question approach to studying God's Word. They started with the book of Jonah. Come study with us!
