Salina Bible Church supports and sends many missionaries around the world, including the United States. Each year an annual Missions Conference is held in the fall along with special weekends with our missionaries.
The last Sunday of each month is designated as missionary Sunday at Salina Bible Church. A member of the missions committee brings a short report from one of our missionaries and all of the offerings--unless otherwise designated--go into our missions budget.
At the present time Salina Bible Church contributes to the support of 18 missionary couples and one widow, representing 12 mission boards, in amounts of $50.00 to $275.00 per month. This includes 4 couples and 1 widow who are ‘retired’. We also support Calvary Bible College.
For all of its 75 years Salina Bible Church has had a missionary emphasis. Missionaries frequently present their field in our regular services.
A special event for Salina Bible Church is its annual 8 day missionary conference held the last full week of October each year. At the present time we invite 3 missionaries to be with us for the week. If possible, we have those missionaries we support but we also invite others if our own missionaries are not available at the time. During that week we have the missionaries speak in all Sunday services and on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday evenings. The missionaries take part in Awana on Wednesday and a men’s breakfast and ladies’ brunch or tea on Saturday.
Our conference in the past has been influential in calling young people and families to the mission field as well as encouraging us to be faithful in prayer and giving.

Brian and Jennifer Masters: Brian was born in Nebraska and grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He felt God calling him to missions and pursued a degree in missions from Calvary Bible College. Jennifer was born in Salina, and attended Salina Bible Church (and Faith Christian School) through Junior High. She and her family (Alfie and Karen Pfeifer) moved to Flagstaff, Arizona in 1988 to work for United Indian Mission. Jennifer pursued a degree in Music from Calvary Bible College and it was there that Brian and Jennifer met. They were married in 1995. Brian and Jennifer joined CAM in 2001 and work in Dallas at CAM’s home office, where Brian is the Director of Operations. The Masters are the parents of three young daughters, Alyssa, 10, Sabrina, 7 and Olivia, 5.
Dr. Roy Sprague was raised in the church as the son of parents who traveled in evangelistic ministry. He is a graduate of the Bible Institute of Los Angeles (BIOLA). He has been a pastor, was a traveling evangelist with the Northwest Independent Church Extension (NICE), and served as Field Missionary for Sunday School Union. From 1970 -2000 the Spragues served with NICE—he as Executive Director and his wife, Elvia, as office manager. Since 2000 the Spragues serve as Minister at large with NICE. Special Music Each Service: The Wissman Family, Denise Blehm, Judy Weber,
Brian and Jennifer Masters, Leah Dennis, Kurt Barnhart,
Al Schwerdtfager, & SBC Youth.
The Wissman Family from Seward, Nebraska have shared throughout over 35 states, Canada and Mexico. Their deep love for God, each other, and the people they meet is a showcase for their musical talent. Loren and Gloria were married in 1980 and soon the children began to join them, filling their lives with activity and laughter. Embarking on the adventures of starting an industrial business, home schooling, and hearty country living, they have experienced firsthand the truth of God’s Word in every-day living. Now the doors have opened to share a music and testimony across the country — traveling in a 45 foot bus with the 13 children in tow: Rachel, Ruth, Josiah, Bethany, Andrew, Elizabeth, Matthias, Stephen, Hannah, Elizabeth, Alaythia, Nathanael and little Charissa.
Denise Blehm is the daughter of Dorothy Fields who is part of our Salina Bible Church family. Denise is concert mistress of the Salina Symphony. She shared her talent with us at our 2006 Ladies’ Retreat and our 2007 missionary conference. She lives in Abilene with her husband, and son.
