About Us:

Gary was born in Brazil of missionary parents, Dick and Harriet Parker. He has a burden for ministry with people, reaching the Amazon region. Gary is the Regional Director for Word of Life - Belém

Responsibilities include oversight of the Ministry in Northern Brazil

Teaching at the Institute, "floating Seminary" and other requests

Sandy was born in Salina, Kansas of missions minded parents, Ralph and Verna Shipe. She too has a burden to serve with her husband in reaching the people of the Amazon region.

Responsibilities include hospitality food and housing for guests and volunteer work crews.

Leads Bible study and prayer time for Staff ladies.

Mishaela is 17 and enjoys reading, piano and playing basketball. She attends Amazon Valley Academy, a small internation school in the city of Belem - about 20 minutes away.

Joshua is 15 and just passed up his mom in height! Josh loves to build things, go fishing in our lake with the neighbor boy, Thiago, and run around outside. We are thankful that we have 100 acres here at the Word of Life campus that the kids can enjoy!

Mackenzie is 12 now and enjoys babysitting the little ones around campus and organizing things. She is a great helper in keeping things in order. None of her friends live close-by, so whenever we can, we have them out to visit.
