The fact is, Salina has about the best available runway facilities in the entire country. Two miles of primary runway, and a general aviation reliever runway. No wonder Salina is far and away the preferred stop for air carrier, corporate and military aircraft flying between the east and west coasts.

Since the growth of aviation jobs is so important, the citizens of Salina passed a sales tax to fund economic development.
